Learn to Swim

Our friendly learn to swim program caters for swimmers who are attending their very first lesson as toddlers, right through to those learning how to swim breaststroke and butterfly. Levels 0 - 4 are run in a private pool that is not accessible to the public, making for a safer and better controlled environment for your child to learn how to swim. Our instructors are all qualified and experienced and welcome all new swimmers with a smile on their face. For more information see our Learn to Swim page.

Junior Squads

Levels 5 - 7 of our learn to swim program are classified as our 'Junior squads'. This includes Pre-Squad (level 5), Novice squad (level 6) and Fry A & B squads (level 7). Swimmers need to be able to swim 25m of freestyle and backstroke to join these squad levels, and some breaststroke is preferable. However, we are more than happy to assess swimmers of all levels and allocate them to the appropriate squad level or learn to swim class. Our junior squads are run at Croydon Leisure and Aquatic Centre 25m indoor pool.

Intermediate Squads

Our intermediate squads are Hentschel A & B, Ryan and Development. These squads are run at Ringwood Aquatic Centre 50m indoor pool. Swimmers in these squads need to be able to swim correct freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke and a minimum 25m of butterfly. Swimmers in these squads may wish to take part in club and district level competitions and, as they progress towards senior squads, may choose to swim competitively to aim for state level times.

Senior Squads - State & National Level Swimmers

Our senior squads are Target, Performance and National squads which all have the benefit of highly qualified and experienced accredited swimming coaches. Those in Performance and National squads also get the benefit of year round short course training at Croydon Leisure and Aquatic Centre twice a week, in addition to their long course sessions at Ringwood Aquatic Centre. There are also opportunities for the senior squads to take part in interstate trips, to take up leadership positions within the club and district, and to train as swim teachers and coaches to be employed with our junior squads and learn to swim program.
