All squads are structured at levels according to swimmers ability and age. Swimmers are assessed into the appropriate squad by one of our qualified coaches using a short in the water assessment of their swimming abililty. Parents are asked to fill out a short questionarre while their child is completing their assessment so that coaches can also consider their age and social aspects when selecting the correct squad. As this assessment is used only as a guide, quite often a swimmer will attend their first training session and be moved up or down a squad accordingly after seeing how they cope with an hour long session.
It is recommended that swimmers attend at least 75% of the training sessions offered to them, however consideration is taken into their other activities such as other sports, school committments, illness and injury.
